By using the sauna, you acknowledge that:
You use the sauna entirely at your own risk.
You are responsible for all members of your group.
Children must be supervised at all times.
The sauna heater and chimney become extremely hot.
Never leave the fire unattended for extended periods.
Follow all instructions contained within this guide.
If you are unsure about anything, contact us before using the sauna.

Health & Safety
Sauna Safety
Do not use the sauna if you:
* Have consumed excessive alcohol or recreational drugs.
* Have a fever or are feeling unwell.
* Have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
* Have unstable heart disease.
* Are pregnant without medical advice.
* Have any condition where heat exposure has been discouraged by your doctor.
If at any time you feel:
* dizzy
* faint
* nauseous
* uncomfortable
leave the sauna immediately, cool down and drink water.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before, during and after your sauna.
Avoid alcohol before or during sauna use.
Replace fluids regularly, particularly after multiple sessions.
Recommended Sauna Sessions
We recommend:
10–15 minutes in the sauna
followed by
2–5 minutes cooling outside or in the ice bath / swim
Repeat this cycle as many times as feels comfortable.
Always listen to your body.
Lighting the Fire
Before You Light
Check:
✅ Air vents are open
✅ Chimney is unobstructed
✅ Firebox is empty except for a small amount of ash
✅ Firewood is dry
Lighting Instructions
1. Open the firebox door.
2. Place one supplied firelighters inside.
3. Stack kindling loosely above the firelighters.
4. Add two or three small pieces of firewood.
5. Light the firelighters.
6. Leave the firebox door slightly open for 2–3 minutes while the fire establishes.
7. Once burning well, close the firebox door.
8. Add larger pieces of wood gradually.
Never overload the firebox.

Building Heat
The sauna usually reaches operating temperature in approximately:
45–60 minutes
depending on weather conditions.
Ideal sauna temperature:
70–90°C
Higher temperatures are not necessary.

Maintaining the Fire
Add one or two logs every 20–30 minutes.
Do not completely fill the firebox.
A smaller, consistent fire provides better heat than a large roaring fire.
Never burn rubbish, cardboard or treated timber.
Only burn the supplied firewood.
Using the Sauna
Before Entering
Take a quick shower if possible.
Sit on a towel.
Remove jewellery if it becomes hot.
Take drinking water inside if desired.
During Your Session
Relax.
Breathe slowly.
Listen to your body.
Leave immediately if you become uncomfortable.
Never pour excessive amounts of water onto the stones.
A small ladle creates sufficient steam.
Ice Bath
Ice Bath Guidelines
Only use the ice bath if you feel comfortable doing so.
Enter slowly.
Recommended time:
1–3 minutes
Exit immediately if you feel faint or unwell.
People with heart conditions or circulatory disorders should seek medical advice before cold water immersion.
Hot Surfaces
Warning
The following become extremely hot:
* Heater
* Stones
* Firebox door
* Chimney
* Flue
Never touch these surfaces.
Keep towels, clothing and other combustible materials well clear.
Do not allow children near the heater.

Fire Safety
Never:
❌ Add accelerants
❌ Use petrol or methylated spirits
❌ Burn rubbish
❌ Leave the firebox door open
❌ Block the chimney
If smoke enters the sauna:
Open the sauna door.
Check the chimney is drawing correctly.
Reduce the amount of wood being burned.
Contact us if the issue continues.

Shutting Down
Approximately one hour before collection:
Stop adding firewood.
Allow the fire to burn down naturally.
Never extinguish the fire with water.
Close the firebox once the fire has reduced to glowing embers.
Leave the sauna door slightly open to ventilate.
Looking After the Sauna
Please help us keep the sauna in excellent condition.
Please:
✓ Sit on a towel.
✓ Remove muddy footwear.
✓ No glass inside the sauna.
✓ No smoking or vaping.
✓ Leave the sauna tidy.
✓ Place rubbish in the bin provided.
Troubleshooting
The sauna isn’t getting hot
Check:
* Is the fire burning strongly?
* Is dry wood being used?
* Is the chimney drawing smoke correctly?
* Are the vents open?
Smoke inside the sauna
Open the sauna door.
Reduce the amount of wood.
Check that the chimney cap is clear.
Fire won’t start
Use smaller kindling.
Increase airflow.
Use dry timber only.
Leave the door slightly open until the fire establishes.
Emergency
If someone becomes seriously unwell:
1. Remove them from the sauna.
2. Cool them with fresh air.
3. Call 111 immediately if required.
